The US on Saturday authorized Johnson & Johnson’s Kovid vaccine for emergency use, giving the country a third shot to fight the outbreak that killed more than 500,000 Americans.

“The authority of this vaccine extends the availability of vaccination, the best medical prevention method for Kovid-19, to help us in the fight against this epidemic, which has claimed more than half a million lives in the United States,” “Janet Woodcock, director of the Food and Acting Drug Administration.
